Title: Unheard: The Story of Anna Winslow Author: Anthony Del Col Narrator: Various Author's Website: Anthony Del Col Publisher: Audible Studios Language: English ASIN: B0743P4WYK Genre: Contempory drama Listening Length: 3 hours 36 minutes

Synopsis: When university student Anna Winslow goes missing fellow student Melissa Lopez, motivated by an unexplained and disturbing voicemail message on her phone, begins to investigate.

This recording was in the form of a radio play rather than an audio-book. The opening scenes suggested that there was much to look forward to, but unfortunately the promising start was not fulfilled. I could not get my head around the initial key event; why would someone leave a tense voicemail message on the phone of someone they hardly knew. This was never fully clarified, although it might have been made clear at the end of the play, but unfortunately I never made it to the end. The main problem I have with the plot is that the information the main protagonist requires to solve the mystery of the strange voicemail simply came to her far too easily. People she spoke to would start their conversations staying they had been advised not to tell her anything and would then go on to do exactly the opposite and tell her everything she wished to know. Even getting personal medical records was accomplished with implausible ease - security was non-existent and files easy to hand. As a consequence, I simply got bored with the story-line and abandoned the recording. The narration/acting was okay, although on a few occasions it was rather clunky. Sometimes it seemed that the narrators were simply reading the script without any sense of the tension they should have been trying to convey.
